We are delighted to welcome you to this patrician 17th-century residence, completely renovated in 2024 amidst the rolling hills of the Alto Monferrato. We hope your stay will be one of relaxation, fine wine, and exploration of the local area.

For any needs, the Reception is available from 08:00 to 20:00.
  • Check-in is from 3pm to 7pm. For arrivals at different times, we kindly ask you to contact us in advance so that we can best organise your arrival.
  • The Reception is located at the back of the Villa, as you face the main entrance.
  • Check-out is by 11:00; for check-out after this time, please contact Reception.

Keys

You can keep the keys with you for the duration of your stay and return them to Reception upon departure. If you are departing earlier, you can leave them directly in the apartment.

Rules

  • Please do not smoke in the apartments and common areas of the Villa.
  • Please do not disturb other guests, particularly between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
  • Heating — Set the thermostat dial to the desired temperature.
  • Air conditioning — The remote control is located on the living room cabinet. You can set both the temperature and the fan speed.
  • Check-out by 11:00 AM; for check-out after this time, please contact the Reception.
  • Your four-legged friends are welcome: we ask that you do not bring them into the breakfast room and that you keep them on a lead when in the vicinity of the Villa.
  • Any visitors are only permitted during daylight hours and their presence must be reported to Reception.
  • Villa Raggi recycles waste: please help us by using the appropriate bins.

Golf — three affiliated clubs, discounted rates for our guests

  • Villa Carolina Golf Club (1 km) – One of Italy's most famous courses, with two 18-hole courses. Also available for trial lessons for those who want to get into golf.
  • Colline del Gavi Golf Course (15 minutes) — Play surrounded by the vineyards of Gavi.
  • La Bollina Golf & Country (30 minutes) — Ideal for combining golf with shopping at Serravalle Designer Outlet or other activities in the area.

Activities and experiences

  • Horse ride To Carentino (40 km). Minimum two people.
  • Archery With Olympic champion Giulia Barbaro, at her estate in Cassinelle (20 km). Lunch included.
  • Bicycle and e-bike hire — Available at Gavi or directly at Villa Raggi, with on-site delivery and collection.
  • Truffle hunting in Gavi — History of truffles, dog training, and fieldwork. Approximately 3 hours. Minimum two people.
  • Wine tastings and cellar tours — Ovada DOCG, Dolcetto, Cortese and Gavi DOCG await you. Ask at Reception for open wineries.
  • Among the flowers at Casaleggio Boiro — A sensory journey through the colours and scents of the season: wander through the garden, pick your favourite flowers, and create your own arrangement. Approximately 4 hours long.

In a few hours

  • Tagliolo Castle A few kilometres from Villa Raggi, a castle still inhabited and managed by the Pinelli Gentile Marquesses, comprising towers, a church, an agency, and a silkworm farm (where silkworms were raised). The village preserves medieval houses, including the famous “Hangman's House”. Ideal for a stroll and a tasting of their excellent wines. (The winery closes at 17:30)
  • Gavi — Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club, renowned for Gavi DOCG. Reachable in 20 minutes via scenic roads and vineyards, with the imposing Forte di Gavi and breathtaking views of the valley (visit approximately 1h30). Fort opening hours: Wednesday–Friday until 4:30 PM; Saturday–Sunday until 5:30 PM; Monday and Tuesday closed.
  • Ovada The main town of the upper Monferrato, ideal for a stroll through alleyways and squares with an unmistakably Ligurian style. Don't miss the Ovada Regional Wine Bar. (Open Thursday–Sunday, 10:00–midnight)

In half a day

  • Acqui Terme (25 km) — A spa town with a history stretching back over a thousand years. Places to visit include: the Castle in the Park, the Clock Tower and Piazza della Bollente, with its marble fountain from which water flows at a temperature of around 75°C. From the Carlo Alberto Bridge, you can admire the remains of a Roman aqueduct dating from the 1st century AD.

On a whole day

  • Langhe — Alba and Barolo (80 km) — A territory of fine wines and truffles, for an unforgettable trip.
  • Genoa (50 km) — The largest historic centre in Europe, the famous Aquarium and, a few kilometres away, the sea (60 km).
  • Serravalle Designer Outlet (20 km) - Europe's largest outlet with over 260 major brands at special prices. Open daily from 10:00 to 20:00.

The Monferrato offers many festivals and fairs, characterised by a festive and convivial atmosphere: typical local food, folk and musical shows, and artisan markets keep local traditions alive! The main events for 2026:

  • Wine (Alba, 25–26 April & 1–3 May) Piedmont International Wine Fair: the largest open-air wine cellar.
  • Countries and Flavours (Ovada, May) — One of the most important food and wine exhibition-markets, dedicated to local excellences in Piazza Martiri della Benedicta.
  • Tagliatelle Festival (Cremolino, July) – Freshly made tagliatelle, rabbit Cremolinese-style, pork chops, grilled chicken, and local cakes. Piedmont on a plate.
  • Silvano Beer Festival (Silvano d'Orba, July) Evenings dedicated to craft beer, street food, and live music.
  • Donkey Salami Festival (Castelferro di Predosa, August) A summer classic that celebrates a typical local cured meat.
  • Mixed Boiled Meat Festival with Bagnet (Mantovan of Predosa, August) A very popular event to enjoy the traditional Piedmontese boiled meat.
  • Onion Festival (Pontecurone, August) — Four evenings dedicated to a simple but essential product in our kitchens.
  • Porcini Mushroom Festival (Cassinelle, September) A traditional event for mushroom lovers in the Ovada area.
  • Alba International White Truffle Fair (Scotland, October–December) A world-class event celebrating the “white diamond” of the Langhe and Roero, featuring a high-quality market, show cooking, sensory analyses, and meetings with great chefs. Not to be missed by lovers of haute cuisine.
